Thoughts of Fortune can prove no pipe dream

JIMMY FORTUNE is hopeful of a first win in today’s Coral-Eclipse Stakes at Sandown with Pipedreamer.

The jockey teams up with Newmarket trainer John Gosden, in a bid to try and secure of the few big races to elude him down the years.

Pipedreamer is now in Group One company having won the Cambridgeshire last year. He was a close-up third behind one of today’s rivals, Phoenix Tower, when both found Duke Of Marmalade too hot at Royal Ascot.

In what looks a tough race today, Fortune is hoping Pipedreamer can complete his step from handicaps to Group One glory. The jockey said: “It’s a very, very tight race and to be honest just about every horse in the field has got a chance.

“There is virtually nothing between my horse and Phoenix Tower on their last run and obviously I’m hoping we can turn it around.”

Aidan O’Brien bids to continue his recent good run in Group Ones with Mount Nelson. The four-year-old bids to give the Ballydoyle handler a fourth win in the 1m2f feature.

ECLIPSE PREDICTION: 1 MOUNT NELSON 2 Campanologist 3 Pipedreamer.
