Smart eyes more Sprint success

RACING: Bryan Smart is looking to win Saturday’s £140,000 Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury for a second time with Visterre.

Yorkshire-based Smart, who won the juvenile contest in 1999 with Don Puccin, is hoping the ground is not too soft for the Noverre filly, who won her maiden at the third attempt last time. Smart said: “She was disappointing at Carlisle the time before last but she ran a lot better to win at Musselburgh last time. The trip and the track at Newbury will suit her at the weekend and I just hope the ground is not too slow.”

CHRIS WRIGHT’S NAP: Sacrilege (7.15pm Sandown).
