Second again for Youmzain

CONNECTIONS of Youmzain were happy to finish runner-up for the second year in a row in yesterday’s Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp.

With Mick Channon at home recovering after a serious car crash, his stable star finished second to winning filly Zarkava.

Under Richard Hills, Youmzain was two lengths back and owner Jaber Abdullah said: “He is a great horse but she is a really great filly.”

Aidan O’Brien saw Solider Of Fortune dead-heat for third with It’s Dino with Duke Of Marmalade seventh. O’Brien won his 21st Group One winner of the season with Halfway to Heaven’s success in the Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket on Satur-day, but said: “They’ve both run good races. They both have plenty of options and we’ll see what happens.”
