MICHAEL BELL is hoping Allied Powers can win the biggest prize of his career so far in the ladbrokes.com Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.
The ultra-consisitent three-year-old has won on various ground and scored at distances ranging from 1m2f to 1m6f in 10 runs since March. He has won four times and has finished only once finishing out of the first four.
Following his latest victory at Ayr the sponsors make him joint 6-1 favourites with top-weight Young Mick.
Jamie Spencer will ride on Saturday and Bell said: “He has been an admirable servant for us all year – he still seems to be in good form and is giving us all the right signs at home for another good run.”
Meanwhile, Crack Away Jack will start out on the road to a possible tilt at the Smurfit Kappa Champion Hurdle next March at Chepstow on Saturday.
Emma Lavelle’s four-year-old won the Fred Winter Juvenile Novices’ Hurdle at last season’s Festival and is due to return to action in the Realtime Radio @ Williamhill.co.uk Hurdle Limited Handicap.
TODAY’S NAP: Del Mar Sunset (9.20pm Great Leighs).
