CLIVE COX is expecting Electrolyser to run a big race in the totesport.com Cesarewitch at Newmarket on Saturday.
The lightly-raced four-year-old has a progressive profile and is currently a 9-1 second favourite for the prestigious handicap with Coral and Paddy Power.
Despite a poor draw Electrolyser finished fifth in the Northumberland Plate at the end of June, before winning well at Ascot on his latest outing.
Cox said: “He pleased me very much with his prep run in the listed race at Ascot. He’s up 4lbs and he gets a 4lb penalty so he’s still bang on from a handicapping point of view and he gets the trip.
“I hope, even with the dry forecast it’s not going to be too dry. He’s still an exciting staying prospect.”
