GET Me Out Of Here is set to set to seek compensation at Aintree following his cruel defeat at Cheltenham.
The Jonjo O’Neill-trained seven-year-old bounced back to form in the County Hurdle but was beaten by the narrowest of margins by Final Approach late on.
Now he will head to Merseyside to try and go one better. Frank Barry, racing manager to owner JP McManus, said: “He’s fine and he ran a great race. It was grand to see him return to form like that and that wind op has hopefully done its job. He jumped well, travelled well and was unlucky to get beat so close on the line. Hopefully he’ll carry on the good work at Liverpool, where he has a couple of entries.”
Knockara Beau is also ready to head to Aintree to take to take on Big Buck’s and the other top staying hurdlers in the John Smith’s Liverpool Hurdle.
George Charlton’s eight-year-old was fourth behind Buena Vista in the Pertemps Final despite carrying top weight. His trainer said: “He’s tremendous. He ran brilliantly. It was a fantastic performance. We were carrying 23lb more than the winner. He’s come out of well. We’ll head to Aintree and then we might go to Punchestown after that – but it will have to keep raining. We’ll be on equal weights at Aintree in the first race on the Thursday. We’ll see what happens there.”
