Wigan Reserves 2, Liverpool FC Reserves 2

LIVERPOOL Reserves made it six matches unbeaten in the Barclays Premier Reserve League Northern Section last night as they fought back to draw 2-2 with Wigan Athletic at the Robin Sport Park Arena.

Goals from Victor Palsson and Vincent Weijl earned a deserved point for Gary Ablett’s side after they had twice went behind through a penalty from Callum McManaman and a breakaway effort from former Academy player Jon Routledge.

Hungarian striker Krisztian Nemeth, the reserves top scorer last season, also made his return from injury on a night of positives.

LIVERPOOL RESERVES: Bouzanis; Kelly, San Jose Dominguez, Huth (Crowther 65), Insua, Irwin, Pacheco, Spearing, Nemeth (Dalla Valle 70), Palsson, Weijl (Mackay-Steven 80). Subs: Chamberlain, Mendy.
