FIVE West Cheshire AC girls will compete at this year’s English Schools’ Track and Field Championships.
Sian Kelman, Kelly Baker, Bryony Potter, Alice Jennings, and Alice McMahon will all line-up for action at the Don Valley Stadium, Sheffield, for the prestigious two-day championships, on Friday and Saturday, July 10 and 11.
Upton High pupil Kelman, who has just claimed the North of England Under-20 Ladies long jump title, will represent Cheshire in the Senior Girls 200m.
Baker, from Bishops High, Chester, will attempt to continue her impressive form in the junior girls shot put competition.
Alice Jennings, a pupil at Chester Catholic High School, hopes to progress in the junior girls 75m hurdles.
Ellesmere Port Catholic High School pupil, Alice McMahon, will be looking to demonstrate her lightning pace in the junior girls 200m.
Little Sutton-based Bryony, a student at Wirral Grammar, will be aiming to impress for the Merseyside team in the senior girls 200m.
ALICE JENNINGS finished third in the Junior Girls pentathlon at the English Schools Combined Events Championships.
Michael Bailiff completed the Senior Boys pentathlon and included a 16.3 seconds 80m hurdles.
WEST CHESHIRE AC will host two events in two days this weekend. The Stanney Oaks-based club will help organise the Cheshire County Track Relay Championships, at Stanney Oaks, Ellesmere Port, on Saturday (11am start). And West Cheshire AC will host the third round of the Northern Seniors Track and Field League Division Two West match, at Ellesmere Port, on Sunday (11.45am start).
