DIRK KUYT spoke of his relief after the Dutch striker booked Liverpool a place in tomorrow’s Champions League Group Stages draw in Monaco.
The striker grabbed a 118th-minute goal to help the Reds finally overcome Standard Liege in a fraught evening at Anfield last night.
The 1-0 victory ensures the Merseyside club will receive an estimated £12m for qualifying for the group stages.
But Kuyt said: “It is worth a lot of money but for us we just want to play in the Champions League. We know how good it can be.
“It was really a tough match, but we believed in ourselves. It wasn’t a good performance but we knew we had the quality to score a goal. It was a relief.
“They were really tough. They fought really well over the two games. Maybe they deserved a little bit more, but that is football.”
