Fabio Aurelio believes Liverpool have shown they have the right kind of team spirit to go all the way and capture the Premier League title.
Despite trailing by two goals at Manchester City on Sunday, Rafael Benitez's side fought back to record a remarkable 3-2 victory thanks to Dirk Kuyt's late, late winner.
Aurelio says it is the kind of result that can make all the difference in the final reckoning.
And he puts the club's unbeaten start to the season - which sees them go into the international break alongside Chelsea at the top of the table - down to the incredible self-belief within the squad.
"It shows how strong Liverpool are now. The form we showed to win was unbelievable – but we believed in ourselves right until the end," said the 29 years-old.
"It's not easy to play against Man City, especially when you go 2-0 down. But we came back and I think it shows we're stronger than before. It was a great, great result.
"It was really important to win this game. If we want to win the title, these kind of points are really important."
Aurelio says the players never doubted they were capable of turning the game around at half-time.
"We knew we were not out of the game," he said. "They were 2-0 up but when there's 45 minutes left we know we can change a situation like that.
"We came back out with confidence, trying harder to win the second balls because we weren't getting close enough in the first half. We wanted to press harder and get nearer their box.
"We knew they had quality players but because they are so good going forward, we knew they were weaker at the back.
"I think the key was the spirit in the camp. We believe in ourselves because we look around the dressing room and see quality players."
Aurelio is confident that the international break will not de-rail Liverpool's flying start to the season, despite problems in the past.
Last season they went into the September international break on the backof a 6-0 romp against Derby County that also left them top of the table, but then drew their next three matches when league action resumed.
However Aurelio believes the team are showing more confidence this time round.
"It's always difficult after the international break, especially because almost our whole squad is away with their national teams," the left-back told the club website. "We'll have just a couple of days to prepare for the next game.
"But a few teams are in the same situation. Also, I think the confidence we had before the break will mean we're not in a bad position."
