32: 16th minute v WBA 3-0 (Home, Premier League, September 11 2004): A TYPICAL thrusting strike from Gerrard to open the scoring. He picked the ball up 30 yards out, played a one two with Luis Garcia that eventually came off and then he sent a left-foot shot past Russell Hoult.
33: 86th minute v Olympiakos 3-1 (Home, Champions League December 8 2004): WITH time running out and Liverpool’s hopes of qualifying from the Champions League group stages slipping away, Gerrard comes to the rescue. Jamie Carragher’s ball into the box is headed back into Gerrard’s path by substitute Neil Mellor and the captain’s spears in a 25-yard drive.
34: 70th minute v Portsmouth 1-1 (Home, Premier League, December 14 2004): DIETMAR HAMANN rolled a free-kick to one side and Gerrard ran in to crack home a superb effort into the top corner from 30 yards.
35: 55th minute v WBA 5-0 (Away, Premier League, December 26 2004)THE BAGGIES were battered on Boxing Day and Gerrard fires in Liverpool’s third. After Milan Baros was brought down by Darren Purse 25 yards out, Gerrard slammed a low shot home via Russell Hoult’s right-hand post.
36: 56th minute v Watford 1-0 (Home, League Cup, January 11 2005): LIVERPOOL made hard work of dispensing with their Championship opponents. Gerrard gave them a slender lead. Florent Sinama-Pongolle released substitute Milan Baros down the left and from his cross former Liverpool loan keeper Jones could only palm towards his own penalty spot and Gerrard coolly slotted home his side-foot finish into the top corner and over the line via the head of Neil Cox.

39: 52nd minute v Middlesbrough 1-1 (Home, Premier League, April 30 2005): GERRARD controls John Arne Riise’s crossfield ball and as it bounces up, he chests it down before firing a brilliant dipping, swerving half-volley into the top corner of the Kop goal for the equaliser.
