A dejected Dirk Kuyt (158)
LIVERPOOL One, Liverpool One. We’re starting to sound like a shopping centre.
I partly blame lack of personnel up front, plus a shortage of enterprise on the flanks.
Apart from the occasional sublime piece of skill such as the equaliser, we aren’t going to score that many, that often (Newcastle excepted, and even then we only knocked half the goals we should have).
I’d like to see two out-and-out strikers at home, even if they are Robbie Keane and Dirk Kuyt, who both have question marks against them right now.
Talking of Kuyt, though, he could have won it.
The whole striking issue begs the question why we got rid of Peter Crouch, and did not try a bit harder for Emile Heskey and even Mr Owen.
The People’s Club deserved the result for their effort, although one has to say that it’s more School of Sweat than School of Science these days.
