THEIR Merseyside rivals may be celebrating reaching a cup final, but Sammy Lee believes Liverpool have six of their own as they race for the title enters the final straight.
The Anfield outfit are in action for the first time since their dramatic Champions League exit to Chelsea a week ago when they entertain Arsenal tonight.
Victory would send Liverpool back to the Premier League summit and crank up the pressure on champions Manchester United, who play Portsmouth tomorrow.
With only six games remaining, Rafael Benitez’s side are aware that there is precious little margin for error with United still possessing a potentially decisive game in hand.
While the astonishing 4-4 draw at Stamford Bridge was not enough to salvage their European dream, Liverpool have drawn encouragement from the manner in which they came close to achieving a remarkable comeback.
And assistant manager Lee senses a belief and determination among the squad to ensure their championship challenge remains on track.
The mood about the place has been buoyant,” he says. “We don’t like going out of competitions, but all we ask of the players now is to react. Hopefully, that reaction will be a positive one.
