He said: “The schoolboys have done well at U18 level. Conor Coady is an England international and played for the national side as they won the Montaigu tournament recently.
“John Flanagan has been playing right-back and midfielder Karl Clair doing well. We also have Andre Wisdom, who is U16, and has been an ever-present in both the U18s and the Youth Cup team. Those players will be involved in the games left with an eye on next season.”
Midfielder Adam Pepper had a scan on his groin problem yesterday and Liverpool await the results to see if he will be available for the final against Arsenal.
Striker Lauri Dalla Valle is progressing following a kick on his thigh and should be fine, while Nathan Eccleston (virus) and
Michael Roberts, who has had an Achilles tendon injury, may return.
