MARK LAWRENSON: Hillsborough game was a fantastic occasion - but why was I subbed?

IT was fantastic to be back at Anfield on Thursday night for the Hillsborough Memorial charity game.

We raised some money which was the most important thing and getting the opportunity to play at the ground again at the age of 51 is great.

It brings back so many memories – 99% of them good ones.

The banter was really good in the dressing room as well, it was like we’d never been away.

Just one moan from me on a personal level though. I couldn’t believe the manager took me off – I’d only played 65 minutes!

If it hadn’t been so cold I would have taken my shirt off and thrown it down.

So Kenny can expect a knock on his door from me demanding an explanation very soon...
