Liverpool suffer Youth Cup Final setback against Arsenal

LIVERPOOL’S dream of a third FA Youth Cup success in the past four years now looks almost impossible after a devastating display from Arsenal saw them crushed 4-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Friday.

Hugh McAuley’s side couldn’t live with the pace and power of their London hosts and it will take a monumental effort to turn the tie around in the second leg at Anfield tomorrow evening (KO 7.45pm).

Liverpool’s star performers in the run to the final like top scorer Lauri Dalla Valle, David Amoo and Tom Ince couldn’t exert much influence as Arsenal kept powering forward.

Having won the FA Premier Academy League national title, Arsenal can lay claim to being the best youth side in the land and certainly proved it against a Liverpool side, who themselves had shown their ability this year.
