THERE have been so many personnel changes at Anfield recently that I advise you to check you haven’t been replaced before you turn up next season.
The main reception doors must be swinging off their hinges given the recent exodus of coaching staff and executives.
The process started a few months back with the notice of resignation from Rick Parry, our much-vilified chief executive.
But it has swelled to a tsunami in recent weeks with Rafa taking his predicted revenge on the Academy staff and finding space in the skip for Gary Ablett and Hughie McAuley for good measure.
It’s clear that Rafa fully intends to wield the power he wrested from Parry during his contractual wrangling, and now exercises complete control over playing matters.
No hiding place now then if the next Steven Gerrard, or more probably the next Pablo Paella, fails to make the first team in the next few years.
Absolute power may not necessarily corrupt absolutely, but it does bring absolute accountability.
