The 28- year-old British number nine and fellow Brit Jamie Delgado booked their place in the men’s doubles second round after Belgian opponent Christophe Rochus retired with a back injury.
The British duo – who reached the semi-finals of the AEGON Trophy in Nottingham earlier this month – were leading 6-1, 4-1 when Rochus and Nicolas Devilder were forced to pull out.
And Marray, who was forced to withdraw from singles qualifying, last week with a calf injury at Roehampton – said: "We had a bit of luck with Rochus pulling out but I thought we were playing some really good tennis at the time.
"I’ve still got a bit of strapping on my leg but its fine at the moment and I’m sure it’ll be okay for the second round match.
"I did it in training before the qualifiers but I pulled out because I didn’t want to miss out on the chance to play at Wimbledon."
