Banega move rumoured
Liverpool are reportedly eyeing to replace one Argentine with another if Javier Mascherano does move to Spain.
Rafa Benitez will raid his old club Valencia for young defensive midfielder Ever Banega. However, Arsene Wenger is also an admirer of the youngster’s talents and sees him as a cheaper alternative to Fiorentina’s Brazilian midfielder Felipe Melo.
Villa hopes dashed
Liverpool's faint hopes of landing Spanish ace David Villa to play alongside Fernando Torres have been dashed by the player himself.
"A week ago my future was clear, and now it's not," Villa told Cuatro.
"I've been through some tough moments, which are partly my own fault, but I decided to put it all aside and I've not thought about it in the last five days.
"When I said I had taken a decision it was true, and this decision is that next season I will play in Spain because it is the league that is best for me, I will not go abroad."
