Meanwhile, Fernando Torres has spoken of his sadness following the death of former team-mate Dani Jarque on Saturday.
The Espanyol captain, who played alongside Torres when Spain won the European U19 Championships in 2002, died of a heart attack following a training session in Italy.
Torres said: “In these hard times I want to express my sincere condolences and I offer all my support to Dani’s family, friends and Espanyol team-mates.
“I shared many special moments alongside Dani when playing for Spain’s youth teams.
“He showed himself to be both a special person and a special footballer.
“I’m dismayed by the news and my thoughts are with his family during this difficult period.”
Torres and Jarque played against each other just nine days ago in a pre-season friendly at Espanyol’s new Cornella-El Prat Stadium.
