Emiliano Insua _300
With Liverpool having endured a miserable run of just one win in nine games and Rafa Benitez having to contend with a lengthy injury list, Insua believes the current break may have come at the right time.
The young defender admits it’s a welcome opportunity to regroup and attempt to turn an ailing season around – starting with the home clash against Manchester City on November 21.
“I think the international break could be good for us because we have so many injuries,” Insua said. “It will give the players some more time to recover before the next game and also give everyone time to think about City.
“After our performance against Birmingham, we were really disappointed to only get a point. We had all of the possession and created so many chances, so to only draw is very disappointing.
“I think the City game will be different because like us they are under pressure to try and win every match, so it could be a little more open.
“We are not in the best situation right now, but we have to keep working hard. I think we need our luck to change and then everything will be better.”
