"When you see Pepe he is always happy and trying to be positive. He is a really good professional."
Liverpool currently find themselves three places and four points off the top four but they have the ideal chance to close the gap when Tottenham arrive at Anfield on Sunday.
Harry Redknapp’s side beat Liverpool 2-1 at White Hart Lane on the opening day of the season, but Spurs haven’t won away to a ‘big four’ club since their last league triumph at Anfield way back in 1993.
Tottenham centre-back Sebastien Bassong admits his team-mates are desperate to end that miserable 65-game winless run.
"We could do better against the top four teams and we will try to win those games in 2010," the Cameroon international said.
"Liverpool are coming back well and it’s going to be a tough game. They are still a big team, a part of the ‘big four’ so we have to be strong.
"There are maybe five or six teams in the race for the top four, and we’re involved, so I hope at the end of the season we will be in there."
