Arda Turan 300
GALATASARAY winger Arda Turan has issued a come and a get me plea to Rafael Benitez.
The Liverpool manager is thought to be an admirer of the Turkey international, who has been linked with a move to Anfield.
Preferring to be known by his first name, Arda is a product of Galatasaray’s youth system and was made captain of the Istanbul club at the beginning of the season aged just 22.
However, as Galatasaray rejected a reported £9million offer from Newcastle United for the player two years ago, Liverpool might struggle to meet the Turkish club’s current valuation of their most prized asset.
Arda, though, has made clear his intentions for a move to one of Europe’s top clubs with Liverpool his preferred destination.
“Of course I want to play abroad but it is our board’s decision,” he said.
“As I always mention, Liverpool attracts me because of their tradition.
“In Europe, I am a Liverpool supporter, so if I go to play in Europe, I would like to play for them.
“My dream has always been to play for one of the top European clubs, but you shouldn’t make concrete plans in your life because sometimes these plans cannot be achieved.
“This is my dream, but for now I’m just working on my football.”
Arda is the second player to court a move to Anfield this week following comments made by Danish international defender, Simon Kjaer.
But with several central defensive options already available to him, Benitez would prefer to strengthen his attack.
