Danny Wilson
Wilson added: “It's a great feeling to sign for Liverpool. Wherever you go everyone knows Liverpool FC and I am just very happy to be here.
“This is a massive challenge for me. This is one of the best leagues in the world and I will be playing for one of the biggest teams in the world.”
Liverpool manager Hodgson said: “In tandem with what we're doing with the first team, we've got to have our eyes and ears alert to any young talent that could be future stars.
“Danny Wilson is certainly one and I'm very pleased we've brought him into the club.”
Meanwhile, Olympiakos are expected to today complete the £4.5m transfer of Albert Riera, with the Spaniard an unused substitute in last night's goalless friendly against Grasshopper in Zug.
Olympiakos manager Ewald Lienen said: “Unless there is a major surprise then he will be our player.
“He is a great player who has proven his worth both at club level and for the Spanish national side.”
Liverpool youngster Dani Pacheco scored twice as Spain beat neighbours Portugal 2-1 in the group stage of the UEFA Under-19 European Championships in France yesterday.
