Liverpool FC striker David Ngog wants to stay at Anfield

LIVERPOOL striker David Ngog has stated his determination to remain at Anfield this season and become a better player.

The 21-year-old scored eight times in 36 matches last season, bettering his tally of the previous campaign by two, but was asked to shoulder a huge burden with Fernando Torres out injured for long spells.

Ngog has shown brief flashes of his talent since signing from Parish St Germain two years ago for £1million but his game needs plenty of work before he can become a consistent threat up front.

His future at the club is uncertain now Roy Hodgson has taken over from Rafael Benitez and he has already been linked with West Brom.

However, Ngog is keen to stay and learn from his new English manager.

“I know speculation is part of football and we have to deal with it. If we bring in new players, it is good for the team,” he said.

“But I am a Liverpool player. I want to be involved in the first team at Liverpool.

“My confidence is good. Now I have to do my job and give my best for the team.”
