Roy Hodgson bidding to end Liverpool FC's poor away record

When told about Liverpool’s poor recent away record, Hodgson added: “Give me a chance to mess it up myself first! When I went to Fulham in the January, we had won one away in about 38.

“I then proceeded to lose the next eight or nine games, making it nearly one win in 50. Then we went and won the next three.”

Kenny Dalglish was in Holland yesterday to run the rule over PSV Eindhoven duo, Swedish striker Ola Toivonen and Mexican left-back Carlos Salvido.

And Liverpool are thought to have also watched £15million-rated Costa Rica forward Bryan Ruiz appear for FC Twente in their 3-0 win over Willem II yesterday.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have reached an agreement with Juventus to send Alberto Aquilani on loan to the Serie A club this season.

Aquilani will join the Italians subject to a medical today.
