Dirk Kuyt 300
LIVERPOOL have been handed an injury blow with the news Dirk Kuyt could be out for up to a month with a shoulder injury.
Kuyt sprained a joint when landing awkwardly while stretching to reach a cross during training with Holland yesterday.
The 30-year-old was sent to hospital for scans and was immediately ruled out of his country’s Euro 2012 qualifier against Finland this evening.
Kuyt instead returned to Merseyside last night and will have the injury further assessed before undergoing intensive treatment at Melwood.
And Dutch manager Bert Van Marwijk said: “I think he might be out for a few weeks.”
With David Ngog nursing a hamstring problem, Fernando Torres is now Liverpool’s only fully fit senior striker.
Fingers will be crossed at Anfield the Spaniard comes through unscathed when his country take on Argentina in tonight’s glamour friendly in Buenos Aires.
And Torres has reassured Liverpool supporters they will soon see the best of him as he continues his return to full fitness.
