Blackpool manager Ian Holloway eager to lead his team against Liverpool FC at Anfield

IAN HOLLOWAY has warned Liverpool his Blackpool side will be gunning for them next Sunday.

The newly-promoted Tangerines continued to make a positive impression in the Premier League as they were narrowly beaten 2-1 by Blackburn Rovers in a compelling Lancashire derby on Saturday.

Brett Emerton settled the first league meeting between the two sides in 30 years with a goal four minutes into injury time at Bloomfield Road.

That was harsh on Blackpool, who thought they had claimed a deserved point when substitute debutant Matt Phillips cancelled out Charlie Adam’s own goal three minutes from time.

By playing three men up front, Blackpool had shown attacking intentions from the outset.

Holloway felt the Seasiders played too defensively in their 4-0 thrashing by Chelsea in their previous outing and that was not a mistake he wanted to repeat.

And after going so close to taking something off Rovers, the positive approach is likely to be redeployed against Roy Hodgson’s misfiring team at Anfield next weekend.
