A FOUNDING member of the Hillsborough Family Support Group has died, aged 77.
Joan Traynor, who lost her two sons in the disaster, suffered a sudden heart attack at her home in Prenton just before she went to bed.
The committee treasurer was one of the bedrocks of the group, which has campaigned for justice since the tragedy in 1989.
Yesterday her devoted husband, Jimmy, said his wife was hugely liked and respected by all who met her.
The 81-year-old said: “I took Joan up on the stairlift and into the bedroom.
“I asked her if she wanted to go to the bathroom and she said ‘yes’. I had hold of her hand when she looked at me and dropped to the floor.
“I was talking to her one minute, and then she was gone.
“It was a great shock.”
