ACADEMY FOOTBALL: Two goals from Michael Ngoo help Liverpool fight back to defeat Crewe Alexandra

MICHAEL NGOO fired in two more goals as Liverpool under-18s came from behind to win 4-2 against Crewe Alexandra at the Kirkby Academy on Saturday afternoon.

Rodolfo Borrell’s side had lost their first match of the season at Stoke City the previous week and were staring another in the face when they were 2-1 down just after half-time. But in a fine comeback they claimed all three points in the FA Premier Academy League.

Conor Coady put Liverpool ahead before the break finishing well into the bottom corner. But two goals from Harry Slater put Crewe 2-1 ahead early in the second half.

England youth international striker Ngoo levelled the scores capitalising on a poor clearance by Crewe keeper Ben Garratt to advance into the area and fire in.

Defender Matty Regan put Liverpool in front, flicking a header in at the near post from Krisztian Adorjan’s corner.

Ngoo sealed the points late on, finishing substitute Henoc Mukendi’s ball into the area.
