ROY HODGSON admits Fernando Torres is struggling for confidence as the Liverpool striker’s woes continued at Goodison yesterday.
And Hodgson accepts that next Sunday’s Premier League clash with Blackburn Rovers has become a “must win” following his team’s 2-0 surrender at Everton in the 214th Merseyside derby.
The deserved defeat leaves Liverpool next to bottom of the table after taking just six points from their opening eight games.
Torres has netted only one goal this season – which earned Liverpool their only top-flight win against West Bromwich Albion – and once again looked well short of his best.
And when asked if some of his players were showing a lack of belief, Hodgson said: “You are talking about one, aren’t you?
“I didn’t see that with Maxi, Gerrard or Meireles. I thought all of those showed plenty of confidence in themselves.
