Milan Jovanovic 300
MILAN JOVANOVIC believes fan power is helping Liverpool turn the corner following their dismal start to the season.
Roy Hodgson's side ended a run of seven games without a win last Sunday with a deserved 2-1 home victory over Blackburn Rovers.
It came just days after a Liverpool team including Jovanovic but minus the likes of Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard battled out an encouraging goalless draw at Napoli in the Europa League.
Hodgson's men travel to Bolton Wanderers this weekend looking for the victory that would move them out of the relegation zone and secure only their second away league win of 2010.
And Jovanovic has saluted the unwavering backing of supporters that has not gone unnoticed among the Liverpool squad.
“Liverpool is the kind of club where people think you either do very well or very badly,” said the Serbia international. “There is nothing in the middle.
“The fans here have been very understanding and I have been encouraged by their support. At other clubs then the form is bad, they can start to criticise but here they seem to try and help you even more. That's the great thing about Liverpool.”
Jovanovic added: “I am sure all the players can get better and we can play as a team. Everybody is trying really hard in the training sessions get it right.
“I don't think people can say we haven't worked hard in the games, but a lack of confidence and lack of luck can have a big impact.”
Since his lucrative free transfer from Standard Liege in the summer, Jovanovic has been unable to tie down a regular first-team role and has started just two of Liverpool's last nine games.
