Liverpool FC v Chelsea FC match preview, Premier League

Fernando Torres scores the first of his double in Liverpool's last Anfield league win against Chelsea at Anfield, a 2-0 victory in February 2009.

Ones to watch

Liverpool

After Thursday night's match-winning cameo, all eyes will be on Steven Gerrard to keep up his impressive run of form for the Reds. With a hat-trick against Napoli, a brace against Man United and a goal against Sunderland, Liverpool's captain has been rippling the net regularly of late and fans will be hoping he is wearing his shooting boots again on Sunday.

Gerrard Torres

Fernando Torres, rested against the Italians on Thursday, will be looking to get on the scoresheet against the same side and at the same ground he opened his Liverpool account. Joe Cole is a doubt for Sunday with a hamstring strain, but will be eager to win his fitness battle to face his former club.

Chelsea

Didier Drogba, with six goals in the Premier League so far this season, will be looking to add to his tally at Anfield. The man who leads the goalscoring charts - Florent Malouda - is now in contention to start on Sunday after making a speedy recovery from an ankle injury.

Injuries/suspensions

Liverpool have several doubts for the game: Daniel Agger (calf), Dirk Kuyt (ankle), Joe Cole (hamstring) and Fabio Aurelio (groin). Chelsea are expected to be without Frank Lampard (hernia), and Jose Boswinga (illness) is unlikely to feature. Florent Malouda (ankle) could return to the squad, while Yossi Benayoun (achilles) will not be playing at Anfield again just yet.
