CAST your mind back just two years to when Stoke City were playing their first Premier League campaign and Liverpool were going for the title.
If they had met at the Britannia Stadium and the home side won 2-0, that would have been top of the bill on Match Of The Day.
But on Saturday we were analysing it about fourth on the bill. And there you have it – Stoke beating Liverpool just isn’t seen as a big deal.
That shows how much this side have declined since then. And having to watch them on Saturday was a pretty grim spectacle.
There were so many players who, after the game, you can’t remember anything they did.
Just far too many non-performances, particularly somewhere as difficult to go to as Stoke.
After the euphoria of beating Chelsea, the good start at Wigan where they took an early lead, Liverpool have since reverted to type.
