Liverpool FC rumour mill: Alvaro Negredo targetted; Suarez fee too high? Juventus chase Babel; Southampton teenager deal

Alvaro Negredo 'to be first Dalglish signing'

Reports in Spain are suggesting that Kenny Dalglish will look to make Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo his major signing this January for a fee of £17 million.

Negredo, who has four caps for Spain, has been a rare highlight for a below par Sevilla side this season but it is thought that the club wouldn't block a move from the Reds if a substantial fee was put on the table.

The 25 year-old is highly thought of in La Liga and has been touted as an ideal partner to take some of the pressure off Fernando Torres, as the Anfield striker looks to rediscover his blistering form of the last few seasons.

Ajax striker Luis Suarez fee may be too high

AN alternative striking option is that of Ajax ace Luis Suarez, whose name has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs after impressing in Amsterdam and for his national side Uruguay.

Although gaining notoriety for a handball against Ghana in the World Cup in South Africa, the 23 year-old's record is incredibly impressive, scoring 110 goals in 154 games for Ajax, a record aided by a magnificent 49 goal return last season.

Tottenham are also rumoured to be interested in Suarez and his growing reputation on the continent would reportedly lead to the striker commanding a £19 million fee with the Dutch club, something that may provide somewhat of a stumbling block for the Reds.
