26 December 2004 - West Brom 0 Liverpool 5
Liverpool endured a difficult time on the road during Benitez's first season as manager but secured their second away win of the season with a Christmas rout at The Hawthorns.
John Arne Riise opened the scoring in the first half and added another in the second half, with Florent Sinama-Pongolle, Steven Gerrard and Luis Garcia also getting on the scoresheet.

Treble winners Liverpool had suffered a poor run of the league form in the first half of the season, briefly being in the relegation places before winning at Nottingham Forest in October, but a more consistent spell in the New Year eventually saw them finish runners-up to Everton.
John Wark was the hat-trick hero at The Hawthorns, scoring three times in eighteen minutes midway through the second half, after Steve Nicol and Kenny Dalglish had put the Reds two up.
