Ex-Liverpool FC manager Roy Hodgson says he is happier after leaving Anfield

ROY HODGSON insists he has no regrets about his ill-fated stint as Liverpool manager – but admits he is much happier at West Bromwich Albion these days.

Hodgson departed Anfield after an unhappy six months in charge back in January, to be replaced by club legend Kenny Dalglish.

Liverpool were languishing in 12th place in the Premier League, with sections of the club’s support publicly voicing their displeasure at the former Fulham manager’s tactics and team selections.

Hodgson has since been appointed manager of West Brom, whom he has steered to the brink of survival following a run of just one defeat in 10 league games.

And the 63-year-old says he is happy and settled at The Hawthorns, but is adamant that he harbours no ill-feeling towards his former employers.

“The Liverpool experience is one I don’t regret at all,” said Hodgson.

“It’s just a pity it didn’t work out better for me, but I’m pleased to see things have turned around now and they are close to where they should be.

“Yes, I’m happier now – being successful always helps. And I’m happy for myself I took the opportunity to come straight back into football.”
