LIVERPOOL FC legend Robbie Fowler has admitted his aim is to one day return to the club as a coach.

Fowler made 369 appearances during two stints at Anfield as a player, scoring 183 goals.

The 36-year-old has already passed on his goalscoring wisdom to players during brief coaching spells at Football League clubs MK Dons and Bury, but admits he would go to great lengths to enjoy a third spell at Anfield.

"If I'm being honest I would love to come back to Liverpool one day but it's not really my choice" said Toxteth-born Fowler.

"If I could walk there tomorrow I would but it's not the ideal world as we all know.”

Fowler left Anfield in the summer of 2007, and had spells with Cardiff City and Blackburn Rovers before embarking on a new career in Australian football, where he represented North Queensland Fury and Perth Glory with distinction.

But having left Perth last month, he is now set on obtaining his coaching qualifications in England, and says a return to his spiritual home remains his ultimate ambition.

He added: "Eventually that is obviously the aim – to try get and get back there and be a part of that club again because I was there since I was 11 and it's a big part of my life."
