Alberto Aquilani edging nearer to Liverpool FC exit

ALBERTO AQUILANI must thrash out a deal with Fiorentina if he is to push through a return to Italy.

Fiorentina want to take the Liverpool midfielder on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent move.

Aquilani had a similar stay at Juventus last term having struggled to make an impact in English football following his £18million signing from Roma in August 2009.

The agent of Aquilani claims a deal is in place with Liverpool to take the midfielder to Fiorentina.

And the representative, Franco Zavaglia, has revealed the deal now hinges only on the player agreeing personal terms with the Serie A club.

“The agreement between Fiorentina and Alberto has not yet been reached,” said Zavaglia. “If we talk of an agreement, that was only reached between the two clubs, because Fiorentina did not come to any decision with us.”

Although informed they must chop some of the dead wood from his squad before continuing his summer spending spree, Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish and director of football Damien Comolli continue to track a number of targets.

And with interest in Newcastle United left-back Jose Enrique having waned, reports in Portugal are linking the Anfield outfit with Porto’s Uruguayan left-back Alvaro Pereira.

Liverpool are busy bolstering their reserves with arrivals from across the globe.

Pachuca’s Mexico Under-17 striker Marco Bueno is set to arrive at Melwood next month with a view to signing what may well be a five-year contract.
