Alberto Aquilani 300
ALBERTO AQUILANI is on the brink of moving from Liverpool FC to AC Milan – while Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has dropped the biggest hint yet he could move for LFC midfielder Joe Cole.
Liverpool's efforts to offload a number of fringe players have intensified in recent days with Uruguay centre-back Sebastian Coates poised to be the latest new arrival in an £8million move from Nacional.
Representatives of Aquilani are on Merseyside to negotiate a transfer to AC Milan, the player's preferred destination after accepting he doesn't figure in Kenny Dalglish's long-term plans.
“I will remain here, in Liverpool, until I complete the transfer in favour of AC Milan,” said Aquilani's agent Franco Zavaglia.
“Aquilani has chosen and he wants AC Milan. We hope an agreement will be reached very soon.”
Milan want to push through the move – which reports in Italy suggest will be an initial loan that will become a permanent deal after 25 appearances this season – before they begin the defence of their Serie A crown at Cagliari on Saturday.
