RODOLFO BORRELL will call on the Anfield factor as Liverpool FC’s under-19s take their next step in the inaugural NextGen Series this evening.
Borrell’s boys entertain German side Wolfsburg having got off the mark in Group 2 with an emphatic 4-0 win against Molde in Norway last week.
Toni Silva scored twice while Raheem Sterling and skipper Conor Coady, from the penalty spot, completed a comprehensive win for the visitors.
Liverpool had lost their opening group game 3-0 to much-fancied Sporting Lisbon last month in front of nearly 3,000 supporters at Anfield.
But Borrell believes the response against Molde can give his team the confidence to enjoy home comforts tonight.
“Winning is always important for the morale of the players and the squad so that was an important victory for us in Molde,” said Borrell.
“The win has also helped in training because everyone is happier and looking forward to this game.
“We put in a great performance overall and it was good to see us score four goals.
“Anfield is a magnificent stadium with a lot of history and it’s fantastic for us to play there once again.
“For our lads I know what it means to them to play at this stadium. It’s an unbelievable experience for them and hopefully we can play our normal game.”
