Luis Suarez ‘is only going to get better’ says Liverpool FC's Dirk Kuyt

LIVERPOOL are ready to unleash Luis Suarez on the Merseyside derby – with Everton warned the striker is only just getting started.

Suarez continued his impressive start to the season with a goal in Saturday’s Premier League home victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Such is the Uruguayan’s desire to play, he reacted unhappily to being substituted towards the end of the 2-1 triumph.

The forward is now preparing for his first Merseyside derby with Kenny Dalglish’s side making the short journey across Stanley Park to Goodison on Saturday.

And team-mate Dirk Kuyt believes Suarez, who arrived at Anfield from Ajax for £22.8m in January, will become an even better player once he becomes more accustomed to life in English football.

“What people seem to forget about Luis Suarez, is that it really is a very big step to come from Holland and the Eredivise league there,” said the Dutchman.

“It’s a huge step, and it’s really difficult to be a success straight away. The style of football is different, and the pace is different too.

“He has done brilliantly from the very beginning, and he has become a very important player for Liverpool.

“But it is my belief he will be even better in the future. He’s a great player already, but it still takes time to settle in, coming from Holland.

“He’s still young so he has time on his side to get used to new team-mates, and to get used to the Premier League properly.”
