Glen Johnson celebrates his goal for Liverpool FC against Chelsea
GLEN JOHNSON admits he couldn’t contain himself after scoring a dramatic winner for Liverpool FC against former club Chelsea.
Johnson netted a superb solo strike with just three minutes remaining to earn Kenny Dalglish’s side a 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge yesterday.
The win moved Liverpool level on points with fourth-placed Chelsea and extended their unbeaten run to nine games.
It was Johnson’s first goal since scoring another of his old clubs, West Ham United, back in February.
And while intent on not going overboard with his celebrations, the right-back said: “It’s great to score whoever you are playing against. I tried not to celebrate too much because I had a few great years here, but when you score a late winner like that it’s hard not to celebrate.
“We are taking it game by game, we are aiming for the top four and that’s what we are fighting for.
“I was probably the last name on people minds’ to score (the winner) but I was grateful to get forward and get the chance.
“I’ve had a few difficult months but I feel like I’m getting back to full fitness and I feel good.”
