LUIS SUAREZ’S disciplinary hearing for allegedly racially abusing Patrice Evra could be completed today, with the Liverpool striker hopeful of being cleared in time to face Aston Villa this weekend.

The FA opened their case on Wednesday, with both Suarez and Evra due to give evidence.

The Uruguayan was charged with misconduct last month after clashing with Manchester United defender Evra during the sides’ Premier League clash back on October 15.

The pair clashed repeatedly during the 1-1 draw, and Evra alleged afterwards that Suarez had used a racially abusive word “at least ten times” towards him, a charge both Suarez and Liverpool have vehemently denied.

The case is expected to be concluded later today, though the FA have confirmed that no definitive timeframe has been set for either the length of the hearing, or any subsequent decision.

An FA statement issued on November 17 said of the charge: “It is alleged that Luis Suarez used abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour towards Manchester United’s Patrice Evra contrary to FA rules.

“It is further alleged that this included a reference to the ethnic origin and/or colour and/or race of Patrice Evra.”
