Reds after Redmond?
Liverpool FC have emerged as challengers to Manchester City for the highly-rated Birmingham City prospect Nathan Redmond.
Redmond, 17, has flourished in the Championship this season after making his debut in the Carling Cup against City.
The tricky winger has now forced his way into Chris Hughton's first team plans and Birmingham are reportedly demanding a fee of up to £10 million.
Liverpool to land Welliton?
Spartak Moscow striker Welliton is reportedly interesting Premier League rivals Liverpool and Arsenal, along with European heavyweights Borussia Dortmund and Sampdoria.
Welliton, 25, is said to be valued at £7 million, although Spartak are desperate to keep him. The Brazilian has been profilic since his move to Russia three years ago, scoring 57 times in 93 appearances.
Zarate as cover for Suarez?
Liverpool are said to be lining up Lazio forward Mauro Zarate as short term cover for Luis Suarez.
Zarate is currently on loan at Inter Milan, but he has fallen down the pecking order at the San Siro. The Argentine already has Premier League experience as he spent a season on loan at Birmingham in 2008
LFC failed in late Henry bid?
Liverpool are reported to have failed in a last minute bid to tempt Thierry Henry with a loan move to the club.
Henry has today sealed a deal to go back to former club Arsenal, but the Reds were thought to have tried to hijack his return.
