STEVEN GERRARD has expressed his pride after signing a new contract that will keep him at Liverpool FC for the rest of his career.
And the skipper has agreed to take on an ambassadorial role at the club once he decides to hang up his boots.
Less than 24 hours after netting the winner in Liverpool’s 1-0 Carling Cup semi-final first leg win at Manchester City, Gerrard yesterday put pen to paper to a new long-term deal.
The England midfielder, who will be 32 in May, insists he is still “living the dream” at his boyhood club and is convinced the club are on the path to restoring former glories.
And he said: “This is the club I love and is the club I have supported since I was a young boy.
“I am living the dream as the captain of one of the biggest clubs in the world.
“I love coming to work every day and the experiences I have had since I was eight years of age and first signed for the club, I wouldn’t change them for the world.
