KENNY DALGLISH admits Liverpool FC lack creativity and a ruthless streak after they floundered to yet another home Premier League draw.
Dalglish’s men failed to break down the massed ranks of the Stoke City defence as they were held to a goalless stalemate at Anfield on Saturday.
It was a seventh draw in 11 home Premier League games for Liverpool, with the likes of Sunderland, Norwich City, Swansea City and Blackburn Rovers having previously departed with a point.
And Dalglish accepts Liverpool, who played an unusual 3-4-2-1 formation, have only themselves to blame for losing further ground in the race for Champions League qualification.
“We lacked a wee bit of creativity and missed a couple of chances,” said the Anfield manager. “It was our responsibility to break them down but we didn't.
“I suppose they deserve a bit of credit for their organisation but we are disappointed we didn't break them down.
“We have got to be more creative and a lot more decisive. We had plenty of possession but nothing in terms of finishing.
“We played into the Kop in the second half which always helps and we put Andy Carroll on as well. On the day we weren’t good enough. There was nothing wrong with effort or determination. We just weren’t good enough to break them down.”
Carroll had strong claims for a penalty waved away by referee Howard Webb during the second half when he was grappled by Stoke defender Jonathan Woodgate.
