Ian Doyle: TV farce is far from okay for Liverpool FC

LFC's Anfield stadium

PART TWO of Being:Liverpool, and things aren’t getting any easier for the Anfield faithful still watching from behind the sofa.

Despite narrator Clive Owen giving the pre-season friendly against Roma the same gravitas as a Champions League final, there wasn’t too much to get excited about.

Other than noticing a curious trait of Brendan Rodgers.

It’s impossible to ignore the nagging suspicion that simple human nature means everyone is acutely aware of the cameras plonked in the middle of the dressing room.

But that still doesn’t explain why seemingly every sentence of Rodgers’ teamtalk ends with the query ‘Okay?’.

Perhaps the Northern Irishman was making sure his message was getting across.

Or that his charges were even listening rather than still starry-eyed at having met James Bond himself, Daniel Craig.

It might be part of a bet to see how many times he could say it.

Still, Rodgers looks like he might be usurped as the main attraction of the next episode, which was trailered with the bizarre sight of managing director Ian Ayre riding a Harley-Davidson.

There’s probably a good explanation. At least you’d hope so.

Okay?
