Liverpool FC could be without Daniel Sturridge for Wigan trip

LIVERPOOL FC fear they could be without Daniel Sturridge for their Premier League visit to Wigan Athletic tomorrow.

Sturridge continues to struggle with the thigh problem suffered during the 2-2 draw at Manchester City last month.

The 23-year-old subsequently pulled out of England’s squad to face Brazil and missed Liverpool’s Premier League defeat at home to West Bromwich Albion, but played and scored in the 5-0 romp over Swansea City a fortnight ago.

And Liverpool manager Rodgers said: “Daniel has had a little knock, but we'll assess the in the next day or so and we'll see how he is for the weekend.”

In the seven games in which Sturridge and Suarez have appeared since the former’s £12million arrival from Chelsea in January, the pair have scored five goals apiece.

And of the fledgling partnership, Rodgers added: “They're two top players. They've got different qualities and different styles.

“They're a real potent threat and that partnership and cohesion is growing all the time.”
