A GOAL from Darren Byers on 11 minutes was enough to secure the points in this UniBond League Premier Division game.
Ashton enjoyed the greater possession but could find no way through a resolute Prescot defence and it was Prescot that looked more likely to score.
Byers was denied by an great save on 20 minutes, and skimmed the bar at the start of the second half with Prescot’s best chances.
